About The Work

This limited edition art print is titled “Black Flowers and Skulls Square” by Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. These silkscreens on paper have been hand finished by the artist with spray paint. The print measures at 27.5 inches wide by 27.5 inches tall. Released in support of Black Lives Matter (BLM) in 2020 with an edition size of 300, each print comes hand signed and numbered by the artist.

About the Artist

Takashi Murakami (b. February 1, 1962) is a contemporary pop artist based in Tokyo, Japan working in both fine art and commercial art. Murakami is the founder of the Superflat art movement, where traditional Japanese art is combined with Japanese pop culture, and founder of Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., an artist management agency, studio, and gallery. Murakami is known for his colorful, smiling flowers and characters like Kaikai, Kiki, and DOB. He continues to reach a global audience through his popular collaborations with fashion labels like Louis Vuitton and music artists like Billie Eilish and Kanye West.
