Otani Workshop – Bear

This limited edition art print is titled “Bear” by Japanese artist Otani Workshop. It is an archival pigment print combined with silkscreen and glitter, giving the piece a unique texture and vibrant finish. The image dimensions measure 16.1 inches by 16.1 inches (41 x 41 cm), with sheet dimensions of 20 inches by 20 inches (51 x 51 cm). Released in 2023, this print is part of an edition of 50, each hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Edition numbers may vary from those shown in photos.

Otani’s work often features animal characters, with bears being a common motif. Reflecting on this piece, Otani shared, “I wanted to draw a simple pattern that you could see all the time, so I made it rough and complicated from the groundwork and painted it with necho necho paint. I like it because I feel like I was able to express the emotions of the bear that I haven’t seen in my previous works.”
